Vet Assistant

Full and Part Time positions available.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Executing treatment orders as directed by DVM
- Performing blood draws
- Collecting urine samples – void, express, cystocentesis
- Keeping cages, exam rooms, surgery and treatment rooms clean and sanitized
- Walking, feeding, and picking up/cleaning up after the animals
- Various housekeeping duties (laundry, taking out garbage etc.)
- Calculating medications mg/kg
- Creating a dosing schedule from the DVM orders
- Communicating with clients via phone and in-person
- Taking Radiographs, CBC, Chem, LYT
- ES, Perform and read urinalysis
- Restraining animals
- Filling prescribed medications
Qualifications:
- College experience preferred
- Organized and Methodical
- Comfortable interacting with the public
- Comfortable working around/with animals of all sizes
- Must be 18 years old or older, hold current driver’s license and have reliable transportation
- Energetic, Enthusiastic and Detailed oriented
- Team player

This is a full-time position.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Monitor and respond to incoming emails
- Answer telephone responding to caller’s needs efficiently and courteously
- Ensure all clinical rooms are well stocked
- Perform in-house lab tests

Receptionist
Carrabassett Veterinary Services is looking for a motivated individual to add to our receptionist team. We are a busy veterinary practice looking for someone who is outgoing, has a strong work ethic, and has excellent customer service. The ideal candidate must be able to multitask with a smile on your face.

This is a part-time position, Friday and Saturday, 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Cheerfully greeting and welcoming patients
- Answering telephone calls and responding to emails
- Triaging / scheduling appointments using our veterinary software
- Preparing / retrieving patient charts for upcoming appointments
- Requesting and reviewing previous patient medical records
- Must be knowledgeable in: Prescription diets; Flea & Tick products; Heartworm preventatives; vaccine protocols; surgery / pre-op instructions
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent, college experience preferred
